Its been a while since i've touched 3ds Max and I can't remeber how used to do this. What I am looking to do is animate a loft to grow down a path or something similar. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this.
First make your object and then convert it to a editable poly or mesh. Create a path in your scene (line, arc, etc.) and now in your modifier stack for your object choose "Path Deform (WSM)" and then select the path you created using the rollout of the modifier.
Choose "Move to Path", choose your x, y, or z preference and play with the "Stretch" spinner. You can animate accordingly with the percentage as well if you need to.
