I'm new in this forum and relatively new in 3ds max. I've created a scene and created a gold material. However, after I applied the material on my object, the render could not be processed. The render seems to be stuck at rendering the reflect/refract map. Here is the material I tried.
I use a Blinn material type with specular at 200 and glossiness at 50.Set the diffuse color swatch to black.
Set the specular color swatch to RGB 205,174,94 (gold) and under the maps section, assigned a "Reflect/Refract" map to the "Reflection" section.
In the "Reflect/Refract" map, I set the blur to 20.0.
Rather than using a reflect/refract map, try re-creating your standard material using a raytrace material. I have found that in larger scenes the reflection sub-maps will eat up all your memory in a hurry.
