I have a mountain scene with a palm trees in front
the palm fronds are made from simple planes with a frond image alpha

when i run these with fog i get a ghost of the entire plane in a light blue (the color of the fog)

any way around this?

Hi mokk.

In the fog-dialoge you can find the option "expotential". If you check it, this might solve your problem.

hope it helps

That did help a bit.

But when the object is over a blue sky it really shows up.

Is there another way to give the appearance of distance?
(the blue haze you get when things get farther away)

Try rendering the scene and the fog separate. Render the geometry with a z-buffer and composite them in After Effects or Video Post. Either that or make the fronds into geometry.
