Just downloaded poolball scene for sports promo for yesterday from turbosquid. Rendering on max 7.0 (my first time, we were on 3.1) looks lovely, plenty of raytrace. Have a bad time issue with render times. Notable feature: each frame takes 15 passes to build up the render. What is controlling this? Its new on me. Things have changed since 3.1. Ripped out everything, deleted all objects, but the scene render still does 15 passes to build up the scene, changed to scanline, turned off everything I could find. Please help my poor brain, if you know. I thought it was the raytrace (i rarely use) but it seems not. Arrrg. Arrrg.
