extruding cad drawings

HI! i'm just so sick with 3d modeling using AutoCAD and wanna model using MAX...but now i don't wanna model on MAX from the very begining...i just wanna know how would i build the MAX model using the method of importing 2d CAD drawings to MAX...so!! ... thanks for help....

Hi.

Mostly from the scatch, 'cause if you start with the 2d splines, you get from the imported Autodesk-file, modeling is pretty limited.

modeling in max is completely different, since boolean is limited in max.

One way to model, is prepare your cad drawings to have embedded splines(I'm don't think this is the right word, but I can't find the wording)

For example, to make a wall with a window hole, prepare the wall outline, and the window hole's outlines as well.

import in MAX, and attach the lines, so they would behave as one entity.
Once attached, extrude this and the wall with the hole would be done.
This method will avoid you in using booleans.

Can someone correct my wording?
