Good day, How are you doing,

In the 3DS Max, I am problem having. I have Editable Mesh I would like to look smooth, not with the hard edges. I apply Smooth modifier, and check the "Auto Smooth." Some parts of Editable Mesh smooth, but not all of them. Even when it is having the setting of 180.0 for Threshold. Anyone's the help?

Very Thank You for your Friendliness,
J

Hi JRodriguez.

Try a mesh smooth modifier instead. The "normal" smooth has it's limits ( between 15 and 50 degrees). It doesn't realy change the geonetry, only the presentation of the surface. Mesh smooth does, by producing more polygones (caution with the steps!).

hope it helps

Frank

This is model for the in-game using. So geometry is not to be adding to. I have use normal smoothing in Maya and it is to work fine, but I can not have it work in 3DS Max.

Hi Again.

Strictly lowpoly, got it.

Did you autosmooth an already partly smoothed mesh? max sometimes mixes new smoothing groups with already existing. So delete all smoothing groups before you do the autosmooth. If this doesn't work you have to asign the smoothing groups manualy.

Have a smooth day
