Hi I'm thinking to get a new PC mainly for AfterEffects and some 3dsMax I've come down to 2 choices

1. a dual intel xeon 3.0 processors 64 bits with 2GB Ram and a low end QuadroFX540 video card

2. a single intel pentium D 3.0 processors 64 bits with 2GB Ram and 2 SLi ready WinFast PX6800 TDH card

which will be more suitable for working in AfterEffects and 3dsMax?

cheers
Allen

Definitely the dual. But i would spend some money for a midrange graficcard also.

The pentium D ( dual core ) is a no brainer over a true dual chip, I'd go with a middle of the road Nvidia card. Quadro FX 1300 pci express! ( I'm a Nvidia fan ) We've got True Dual 3.2's and the our tomhardwares benchmarks are a bit under the posted pentium D of the same speed.

good luck
