I Liked the start but I found at around 20secs into it I started to get bored with the same style of shot. Didnt mind the colour bars as it kinda gave everything a uniformity (if thats even a word) and tied it all together.
I would add some more colour as black and white got hard to disguinish after a while and maybe add some different projects into it as well. Seemed almost like a showreel for a 80's western film.
Thats just my opinion.

I like it, but the color bars seem too overt like saying, "look, I do video!" so I would limit them. I admit to using them too though. Also, I would leave your title up at the beginning a bit longer, so we can see what you do.
Personally, I let my work speak for itself, mostly After Effects, I have been complimented by my peers that this reel shows things which have a reason to be, not just random effects, which is something I strongly go for. Or try to anyway. http://www.fisheyeedit.com
