Hi Everybody,

I'm trying to mask out the lefthand side of the frame, in order to have an explosion happen in the background. This would be easy and not involve any rotoscoping, if the actor didn't move their hand over the line momentarily.

I've had success with "rotomasking" like this before, and I'm familiar with the procedure, but the problem I'm running into is that as soon as I draw a mask around the are I want to mask out, the red control points disappear from the canvas, so I'm unable to click and drag the points to where they need to go. It still lets me manipulate them from the Inspector tab, but there's no way I'm doing that for the rest of my life, or even for this project if I can help it.

Any insight as to how I can get my precious control points back would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Any ideas

1) Make sure Show Overlays is turned on under the View pop-up menu (Command-/)

2) If you see an outline for your mask but no control points, you need to change your tool - right click on the mask and select Edit Points.

If neither of these work, try trashing your preferences.
