I'm playing around with trying to make a custom transition where an image breaks into multiple arrows, which spin on their Y axis 360º, and as they return to their original position they've transitioned to the next shot.
To do this so far I've imported the footage as an image sequence into motion, created the arrow shape, then applied a replicator to the arrow shape. In the replicator settings I've set the Shape to Image and set the Image Source to the image sequence. Then I've set the Color Mode to Take Image Color.
What I'm finding is that instead of baking the image to the replicated arrows, it seems to be applying just one colour from the footage to each individual arrow, so virtually I'm reducing the resolution of the image to a 16px by 9px.
I've attached some images so you can see the original and what I'm ending up with. Is there a way around this in motion or do I need to look into buying a more advanced particle plugin?
