[Jose Zeinc] "Im talking about screen aspect ratio, format sound and all those video requirements."

These vary by network. There is no standard for any of this. Once you have the deal in place, you'll ask for the Technical Standards Guide from that particular network and conform your show to match up.

Especially when it comes to audio. Seems no two networks are alike in the audio department.

Some networks will require both an HD and SD master.

Some will require split track audio while others won't.

Some will require captioning while others will do it themselves, etc...

So worry about selling the show first, then conform your show to the specific network you sell to later.

Here's one of my articles for further reading.

Yeah, call a few local tv stations or cable companies and ask them to send you their broadcast spec sheet. You'll see right away that they're all different! Screen aspect ratio should be pretty consistent for hd content (16:9), however video and audio codecs, hd/sd, container, physical/digital media... No standards!

The great thing about standards is there are so many to choose from!

If you can reach somebody at a local station that can even GIVE you a meaningful tech spec sheet, or know what it is you're asking for, you're miles ahead of the game already.

Sure, but what codec and what frame size? Most take 1080 but some networks deliver 720p.

Uh, Walter is that a question to me? I think the rest of that sentence you quoted should clarify what I was expressing, if not the whole paragraph. It appears that you quoted half my sentence, then asked about the other half of the sentence. ??
