Been checking the TV news lately. Did you hear that something's happened to Michael Jackson? I sure wish local, national and cable TV here would provide some of the details.

Yeah, some guy named Michael Jackson died from what I hear. Something about being the king of soda pop or something...

Stay tuned to the news, they may mention something or other about it...again.

;)

[David Roth Weiss] "I just heard a report confirming that Michael Jackson is still terminally dead. "

I heard it from Walter Cronkite, so it must be true!

TMZ.com was showing cell phone video of MJ and Elvis surfing at some exclusive resort. I believe CNN has Anderson Cooper, or AC, en route as we speak....

You were great in Jaws Roy. Blue Thunder and 2010 were not your best. French Connection was good though.

I was at the grocery store yesterday, and they had a compilation CD of Michael Jackson songs for sale at the checkout. According to the cashier, he died a few weeks ago. First I've heard of it too.

Too bad the news media missed this opportunity to report on such a historic person's demise. I thought they usually went for things like this.

Now, as far as a business and marketing angle on this thread...I don't think so.

Mike

By the numbers moved in the last month, his manager prolly wishes they had done this years ago.
Nothing will ever be as good for an artist's business than the artists' death.

I hope the executors of Mr. Jackson's estate are taking a close look at how Elvis Presley Enterprises built the empire that not only made Elvis more profitable in death that he was alive, but basically spawned the modern tourism industry of the city of Memphis.

I have to hand it to the folks in Memphis for keeping a close reign on the "King of Rock & Roll's" image over the years. Graceland us smack in the middle of what has long been one of the worst parts of the city, yet it's still what everyone who goes there wants to see.

We sure are a funny society. In any other part of the world we'd be like "check it out... a dead guy once lived here."
and they'd just be all "yeah. So who lives there now?"

[Michael Folorunsho] "Who is Michael Jackson?"

I'm sure his family, in particular, asked that same question.

:o)
