Graphics and effects companies that contract out for commercial production

Hey, guys. This is my first time posting. I'm excited to start contributing here. I'll just cut straight to the chase. I'm starting a business shooting commercials and promos. I'm not too sharp on the post side of film. Production is my forte. I know how to get around with Apple's Motion and FCP. However, I'd rather just... get rid of that whole step and just contract out a company to create graphics, animations, effects, and text slides for me. But heres the thing, I don't even know where to begin looking for a company that does that sort of thing, let alone what they're even called. I think I was once told they're called Effect Houses, but who knows.

So... Do you guys know of any companies that do this sort of thing? If you do, please let me know. It'd be greatly, greatly appreciated. In the mean time, I'll begin searching on my own...

Thanks!
Take it easy.

-douglas joseph.

You're looking for a full service Post Production facility. A great place to start is right here on the Cow in the Services Offered section.

You are looking for a post-production facility/studio/company. Search around on Google and you'll find plenty to choose from.

Hey Douglas and welcome. Please check out my companies website at http://www.ecgprod.com. We do a ton of animation and motion graphics work and our rates are very competitive. We recently created a a complete graphics package for the Travel Channel and we start a new build next month for them as well.

I would also do what Walter suggested and check out the services offered section on the cow. That way you can look and compare companies and talent to find exactly what you are looking for.

If you want have a look at our graphics blog at http://www.ecggraphics.com

Good luck with your search!

Umm... can we regard this as a rather "fat" pitch, right over the plate?

"Hi, I'm a 25 year old, great-looking girl, wondering if any of you guys here in the bar would like to buy me a drink."

Well, the first question is, where are you? If you want to connect to someone who is local, it would help to know that.

Also, and it might be to early to tell, but think about what kind of relationship you're looking for. Are you looking for a partner or a vendor? By partner, I don't necessarily mean a partner in your business, but a contractor who will essentially work directly with the client on your behalf, either at your shop or theirs, and take on the responsibilities for the post end.
