I have an interview recorded in a highly noisy environment, and worse, one with very variable and intermittent noise -- music, speeches. I have the audio from two different cameras, one stationed close to the subject and one further away. The noise is obnoxious in the former, and almost completely drowns out the interview in the latter. It seems to me that there must be some way to SUBTRACT the audio of the latter camera from that of the first to bring out the interview. Can this be done in Audition?

Thanks for any advice!

i've done exactly this before in audition and depending on the audio quality, its pretty amazing. if i remember correctly, you need two mono sources, then combine them into a stereo track, effects-invert one, then stereo to mono conversion.
