Hey everyone, Ive got some 13 years old hi8 videos but the sound quality is awful, in fact I edited it into a documentary but it is really unwatchable because of the sound quality, is there some hope to make it decent? Or should I just abandon all hope?
Here is some of the footage so you can hear how bad it is

It sounds like it was recorded with Dolby noise reduction, then played back with the Dolby turned off. Some old formats had that option on the camera or on the deck. The best hope now would be to use a program like Izotope RX3 to take out the unwanted noise. It has a bit of a learning curve, but there are plenty of tutorials online to help.
