Audio Crackle Fix

I have this audio that cam straight out of the soundboard at a concert I recently filmed and when monitoring onset there was no crackle. Now, however, the audio seems almost unusable. I have included a link below to a download of a short WAV file from my piece. Any assistance in getting the crackle out would be most appreciated...

Thanks,
Donald

It sounds to me as if it's clipping badly - in digital audio, badly clipped audio generally can not be repaired:

Here's another tutorial from Adobe TV on fixing clipped audio:

It really sounds to me as if the audio is so badly distorted as to be unusable. One thing you could try, is to separate the stereo signal, and see if one channel is less distorted than another, and do a remix, bringing the distorted channel down.
