I'm really new to Audition. I edited a simple mono dialogue piece in Final Cut Pro and then sent to Audition via OMF. I then mixed in Audition and output it as a stereo mix. This gave me a 2-track aiff file that I imported into FCP and put on the timeline. It took me a while, but a noticed something didn't sound right. There was a slight phasing sound. So, I looked at the audio and discovered that Audition had given me 2 centred-panned mono tracks, even though on my master output and in the mixdown I asked for stereo. How do you get a proper stereo output in a situation like this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ah, I made a breakthrough. When I export a .wav file, as opposed to a .aif file, FCP sees the export as a proper stereo file, instead of 2 center panned mono files. I decided to try this because a Larry Jordan tutorial said that .wav was the default file type and that we should be using that. I find this strange though, because isn't .aiff Apple's preferred format?
