• | Recording Problem. High Pitch and Stutter
on Dec 13, 2010 at 12:02:24 am |
I recorded a podcast with Soundbooth CS5, I used a Zoom H4n as an audio interface and mic to record straight to my laptop. After recording the voices sounded slightly high pitched and every few seconds there were little points of stuttering. "it started soun-sounding like this-is"
I'm not sure what I did differently because I had the same set up in the past and haven't had this problem before.
Does anyone know why this happened and how I can fix the stuttering? (I'm able to fix the pitch no problems)
I'm running a Macbook Pro i5, Soundbooth CS5, Zoom H4n recorder
Thanks
Rodger

Hi Rodger
It sounds like you have some kind of background process running which is causing the stuttering. Once recorded the only way to get rid of it is to manually get in there and delete the repetitions :-(
In future, I would record straight to the zoom and import the file and use that. However, if you are linking it with some screen capture do a short test first to check your screen capture software isn't stuttering as well.

That's very surprising, since all I was doing was browsing on a browser.
Thanks for the advice, will definitely record it separately next time..
