Recreate Church echo
by Marten Kopp on Oct 2, 2010 at 4:43:24 pm
Last week I recorded a video of a choir performing in a church. I connected my camera with the mixable and recorded the audio with line-in.
When I captured the tapes I found out the sound I heart in the church wasn't the same as I heart on my computer. The great echo you usually hear in churches was completely gone. My client was not happy with this.
No I try to recreate the effect using audition. But the presets of Echo Chamber aren't satisfying. I dont really know where to start, so I did some Google searches but no luck.
Does anybody know how to achieve this effect or know a tutorial or something that could help me out?

You could try convolution reverb - bitter hallway and play with the settings, it give quite a good church-ish feel ... you should also look up 'impulses' on the web for convolution reverb. These are actual models of real places which can match what you want quite well ... Hope this helps. Andrew
