CD tracks are too hot after importing to Adobe

When I import CD tracks to Adobe for editing I find that they are very hot and sometimes the signal even clips. How can I control the input levels when importing music?

It seems like there is no way of adjusting levels when you extract music from CDs.
You can try to internally record the sound from your CDROM to be able to increase/decrease input levels. See the AA help section for Audio Recording in Edit View.

I'm sorry, gave you the wrong help sections. Going to Importing Audio from CDs/Record from a CD internally in the help file or AA support site will provide you with detailed instructions so you can monitor and adjust levels when recording a CD instead of extracting it.

It's an exact digital copy. What you see is the way it is on the CD. Commercial recordings are frequently clipped during the mastering stage (a gripe of many musicians).
