This may be a dumb question but after delivering pgms with audio peaking -12db we're faced with a request for audio content to be delivered at -6db.

Could you pse verify what it should be?

Many thanks
Alex

-6db is industry standard ... I would use the hardlimit function depending on the gain of your file amplify by 1 to 6 db with a peak limit of -6db ........ WILLIE

You can run it to 0dBFS without distortion. Deliver at whatever is asked for by the client. If the client has no preference and it's a final mix, send it at -0.1dB. Peak values don't really influence RMS levels, so it has nothing to do with loudness. 0dBFS (or -.1) will give you the best S/N ratio.
