giving a clip more fullness
on Nov 3, 2005 at 10:34:08 pm

I'm pretty new to Audition 1.5 and I'm wondering what the best (and easist) way wd be to add some fullness/roundness or "bottom" to both a music clip and a vocal clip. Thanks-

Ruby,

It depends mostly on the clip whether it's best to pull some mid out or boost the bottom end ... You can experiment with the PARAMETRIC EQ located in the FILTERS ... Once you have achieved the sound you are looking for then I would HARD LIMIT the clip ... This can really add to your mix ... The hard limit feature is located in the AMPLITUDE section ... Hope this helps ........... WILLIE

Thanks a lot Willie. I used both your suggestions and it really "fattened" up the sound nicely, particularly the hard limiting. The only time I'd used hard limiting before was to deal with clipping--didn't realize it could fatten the sound like that. Very cool-
