Audio thump removal -
on Jul 13, 2005 at 4:07:49 pm

I have a thump sound in a TV program we shot. I cannot figure out where it came from- sounds like a mic got bumped (but the talent wore a lavalier so it wasn't)

I need to see if I can find the frequency the bump is on and remove it without killing the talent's voice.

Which tool should I use and if I loop a region to test which presets or adjustments should I make to get ridof it?

Thanks

Larry

Larry,

Depending on where it is it is very easy to remove ... With any luck it's not over any other audio ... You need to take it into the edit side, highlight just the bump go to VIEW > SPECTRAL VIEW ... Now go to EFFECTS > NOISE REMOVAL (I am not in front of my computer right now and don't recall the name of the function you go to next but it is the 2Nd one on the tab when you go to NOISE REMOVAL ... Now at the bottom you will see a box that says REMOVE SINGLE CLICK ... This should clean it up ... If it is over the audio you may have a problem ... Just write if you run into a snag ......... WILLIE
