I'm a little overwhelmed trying to figure out how best to get the contents of a dense Word doc into my WordPress site. Does anyone have any experience with data management practices along these lines?
Before I can simply copy and paste it, I want to be able to organise it well enough to sort through it. Although Excel can do that, it's limited and doesn't allow me to keep the formatting of my text (line breaks and such). My contents will also include photos in another document. And it's big, the text alone being nearly 1,000 pages!
Either I transfer everything by hand into another cleaner Word doc and sort through it in the process; or I transfer everything in just metadata form to a spreadsheet which I link to the Word doc. Then I sort and organise and then somehow transfer to WordPress. In such a case, I would need a customised plug-in in order to connect the spreadsheet directly to the site. Anyone have any ideas about that? Or I use a third party database app, but those might be expensive and might not include multimedia.
Any thoughts? Am I best served just working with Excel and then transferring by hand into WP?
