Hi, I'm new to web design. I finished front end lessons and now I should choose may backend Programing language.but I don't know select php or asp.net I using C# windows form before but I think PHP is

I don't code, but PHP seems to be the way to go. I've always preferred open source. But they're not really apples to apples are they? Isn't one a platform and one a language? But Wordpress and php.

If you are in the Linux environment, most everyone uses PHP. But being in the Windows world and depending on your goals and customers (if you have clients), ASP may serve you well.
