I have two websites - http://www.ccitycom.com and http://www.remembertimeneverwas.com. The business site (ccitycom.com) was set up for me and that individual moved back to England. I have since tried to update it using Joomla. The personal site (remembertimeneverwas.com) was set up using Word Press. I have the same problem with both sites, a problem that must be resolved for me to use these sites the way I would like. Neither site will upload video files larger than 10 MB. I currently use Compressor, a part of my FCS3 bundle, to compress Quicktime files. I have been saving the compression as h.264 files. When I compress the files until they meet the requirement (10 MB), the files look horrible. I find that I need to have my files (using the method I now use) at least 30 MB in size (and more would definitely be a help). What can I do? I appreciate any and all responses. Thank you in advance.

Upload high quality files to youtube and link to them on your sites. (Saves bandwidth too)

I would, if it is possible, prefer to avoid YouTube. I will be posting videos that are not yet completely cleared (rough cuts for clients, friends, etc. to make comments on). YouTube would be an option down-the-line.

You can make Youtube videos private, even password protected.

That's not what I use. I upload the videos to my webpage server and send the clients a direct link. Also, if you know some PHP, you can add iDisk functionality to your site to share all kind of files with your clients.

I hope this helps

I am intrigued. I would like to know how you go about -

"uploading the videos to a webpage server" and "adding iDisk functionality to a site"

Thanks

Uploading videos to your server means you are not using an external service other than the one that hosts your site. You write the code to display them, but also they use your bandwidth.

When I need to, I give my clients access to a folder in my server, so they can go and download files I put there for them. I use PHP to do that.

I hope this helps.

If your changing your php.ini, and your having troubles (server keeps throwing errors)remove the ; from your php.ini files so it looks like this:

upload_max_filesize = 10M
post_max_size = 20M
