Paxson Woelbersimple css problem... driving me crazy.
by on Oct 22, 2010 at 1:29:58 am

I'm trying to build my first site with some real, decent CSS. Here's the page:

http://www.paxsonwoelber.com

It looks like for some reason nothing in the undermenuarea div is showing up at all. It shows up in Dreamweaver in the preview area, but all of the content completely missing when I view the page in Chrome or Firefox.

CSS will be the death of me.
Thanks anyone for ANY help on this.

hello...

it seems to be there, but the content in it has text that is black...

you can try a few things:

1. download firebug (http://getfirebug.com/) for firefox - great tool for inspecting and debugging stuff like this

2. try an old-school trick of adding a border to an element in your css to see where it is - so a css attribute like "border: 1px solid lime;" (sans quotes) on your box and then reload the page. it can help make an element pop so that you can see where it is...

I agree with Curtis O'Malley, Firebug has saved me many times with these sort of little problems.

Cheers

Removing all the absolute and relative positions from the CSS on this rules can bring them back.

#undermenuarea
#sidemenus
#content
