Bruce MacKownGodaddy Windows Server vs. Linux Server: Which is "better"?

I just had a problem with PHP scripting for a contact form on my website hosted by godaddy that it seems will be fixed by moving my site from a Windows server to a Linux server.

I'm wondering if there is any reason people prefer Linux over Windows or vice versa.

Which one is better or in which case do people choose one over the other?

The godaddy tech said asp doesn't work on Linux, only Windows, but I don't know what asp is.

Also he said Windows is not case sensitive when reading links, but Linux is.

Thanks.

I can only say from my experience with Linux servers that I believe they are more stable and easier to use from a server admin point of view but I'm sure if I was a Windows server admin I might have the opposite point of view.
