You need to have a high traffic site to get people interested in advertise directly with you. Do you have one?

If you don't want google ads you can go directly to your potential clients and offer them a space on your site.

That's great to hear!

You can use different ways to sell advertising trough your site. You can make banners (like the ones at the sides of the COW) or you can do some kind of "product placement". This will depend on the nature and content of your site.

Look for similar sites and see if they're advertising and how are they doing it. This can give you a hint on who is investing money on the web and what are they looking for.

Be sure you have some numbers of your audiences (Google analytics kind) before getting close to any potential client. It's a good idea to find a way to know the age of your visitors. Registering them for a newsletter or a promotion is good way to know it.

Hello vows, I got in on this late. Another question I have is what banner or flash software can make these ads to the left or right? I can't afford flash yet but I have been seeing a lot of these $39.95 programs and don't know if they can do this or not. I need to generate the code and install it into IWeb.
