I use GoLive CS and every time I drag a text box onto my page, the font defaults to "None" with no set size. It looks like a larger than normal sized Times New Roman. I have to change the text EVERY time I use a text box to "Verdana set" to get a nice sans serif and then I change the size to -1. I am sure there is an easier way to do this.
Also, when I change the size to -1 to get it a bit smaller, it always seems to look different "live" than it does in GoLive. Should I change the font size to something else to guarantee it'll look the same "live" as well as in GoLive. I am still confused as to the difference in the Font size box between the -1, -2, -3 etc...the +1, +2, +3 etc...and the 1, 2 3, etc.
I feel like I'm doing pretty good with GoLive until I keep having these basic font issues... Well, thanks in advance to anyone who offers a little help and advice my way!
You might want to move away from ever using the font tag again and start looking at style sheets, CSS, etc.
For example, you can link every page to a stylesheet that defines the P tag (your normal body text) to a particular size and font. You can define the size in pixels, ems, percentage, points, whatever. I find pixels to make the most sense. With styles you can set other attributes like margins, line height, tracking, backgrounds, and borders and more.
And once you create a set of styles you like, if you're like me, you use it as a starting point for every site you design.
