360 degree ribbon board

Hello! Brand new member.. I hope I am in the right place.
I created a fascia ribbon board at 18560 by 40 pixels. It looks good on my monitor (in After Effects). I tried to encode it in Adobe After Effects Media Encoder. It will only output it at 4096 long. Can I assume this is the 4K limit for h.264?
What is a standard codec used for fascia? Thank you.

Different systems can have different requirements. You should confirm delivery specs with the venue.

Yes, thank you.
I'm a 3rd party, so I have to wait for the primary to check with his arena client... In the meantime, I was just seeing what the industry standard might be. Evidently there isn't one.
But I have ruled out h.264...

A lot of systems use uncompressed AVI, but again, it can be risky to assume.

As Walter said, ultimately confirm delivery with the client.

The software and hardware that drive ribbon boards can vary greatly from manufacturer and venue. My offhand guess is that their pipe isn't 18560 wide. Either they have duplicate video being sent down the data chains, or they would play video that is [for example] 3712x200 and the video controller knows to send the top 40 pixels to the first part, the next 40 down to the second, and so forth. In either case this is information that is absolutely mandatory to even begin asset creation.

Thanks, Walter and Jeff, for the suggestions.
I was eventually given phone access to the video guy at the arena! Yay! Hooray!
Turns out that they have an After Effects template that they feed the full size content into. It basically cuts the 18K by 40 in half, and stacks the left half above the right half. Thus producing a 9K by 80 file. Good to know, 2 days after the first game...
So they emailed me the template, and all is good.
And QuickTime MOV uncompressed ended up working.
Have a great weekend!

Excellent! It's literally impossible to deliver this work without speaking to the source. I'm glad to hear that everything worked out well.
