The Wild card effect brings the system to a crawl in the preview, even on draft it is not fluid. Most of the particle effects also cause a serious drop in the frame rate even on draft mode. Which forces me to prerender to get real time assessment. For the Wildcard FX the footage I am using is all SD and no effects at all. I have also noticed other times when it does similar things as well. Such as image masking and simple text with drop shadow. Can't recall all the details of how and why it happens but I can repeat it on a regular basis. I have tried with and without the NVDIA card active but to no avail. Also all my drivers are up to date and nothing is loaded on this computer that does not have to do with editing.

I’ve reinstalled all products a few times but to no avail. Also VAAST instructor John Rofrano tutorial shows his running smoothly full preview and on a slower system than mine. So I can’t figure out where to look to find a solution.

I thought with a high end machine like this I would breeze through these issues, it must be something I am missing in my setup.
Below are the specs.

Yes it is, Sony was listed in the programs loaded as past of the Specs.

Joe-
The wild cards filter you mentioned is inherently slow when used as a filter. When used as a custom composite filter it will perform faster and a with more diversity its capabilities, multiple layer input for example. Give that a shot to see if it improves the speed.

Sorry for the late response.
I am unclear as to what you mean by "custom composite filter". I've watched John Rofrano's tutorial and posted in the Vegas forum and he has no issues with a slower machine. If you could elaborate I would appreciate it.

Thanks
