Compatibility Vegas pro 10 Boris BCC7 and Eyeon Fusion

Hello, sorry for my English, I'm French ...
I have a problem.
On my computer I have Vegas Pro 10 and Eyeon Fusion 6. In recent days I installed a trial version of Boris BCC7 for Vegas. Boris and Vegas work very well.
But now Eyeon Fusion will not boot. When I start Fusion, it seeks to "OFX plugin: C: Program Files Common Files OFX Plugins BCC7_OFX.ofx.bundle Contents Win64 BCC7.OFX.ofx".
I think there is a conflict because BCC7 is also a plugin Fusion.
Do you know the problem.

thank you

Hi Jean-Luc,

Thanks for getting in touch with us about this. The problem that you are reporting is new to us - we have not had any reports of such a conflict in the past. Having said that, let's see what we can do to resolve the issue.

Also, as a side note, BCC OFX is not currently a supported plug-in for Fusion. If you need BCC in Fusion, you will need to install the BCC AE (After Effects) version. We hope to support Fusion with BCC OFX but we have yet to finish that project.

I suggest starting by uninstalling the BCC filters to see if this enables Fusion to launch. If so then at least we know where the problem is and can go about fixing it. So, please try this:

• Uninstall the BCC OFX product
• Reboot the system
• Launch Sony Vegas Pro and make sure that it runs
• Launch Fusion and make sure that it runs
• Reinstall BCC filters
• Reboot the system
• Launch Sony Vegas Pro and make sure that it runs and that the BCC filters are there
• Launch Fusion and make sure that it runs

It's very important that you reboot so please do not skip this step.

Please let us know if this helps.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your answer.

1. I uninstalled BCC 7: Vegas Pro and Fusion worked
2. I reinstalled BCC 7: Vegas 7 and BCC work
But Fusion does not work

Hi Jean-Luc,

Thanks for trying that and getting back to me with your results. At this stage, I can only pass this on to our support crew and have them open up a technical support case so that we can have engineering look to see why this is happening.

One thought that comes to mind is I wonder what would happen if you had Vegas installed on a second drive, not the same drive as the Fusion drive ... would that solve the problem? It's a long shot but might be something worth trying.

I'll pass this on to support - they may have other ideas worth trying.

Cheers,

Peter.

Peter,

Vegas Pro is currently installed on C: drive and Fusion disk E:
But that does not solve the problem.

In your previous post you say: "If you need BCC in Fusion, you will need to install the BCC AE (After Effects) version"

Just asking : Is it possible to install Vegas Pro + BCC 7 and After Effects + BCC AE, in the same computer ?

Cheers
Jean-Luc

Hi Jean-Luc,

To answer your question, yes, it is possible to have the BCC OFX and BCC AE products installed on the same system without conflict. This has been tested in our labs and works.

We believe there might be a way for us to work around the issue with Fusion not launching after installing BCC OFX into Vegas. We will have more info shortly.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi Jean-Luc,

Launch the BCC OFX installer and select the custom option. Then instruct the installer to place the plug-ins here:

For x64
C:Program FilesSonyVegas 10.0OFX Video Plug-Ins

For x32
C:Program Files x86SonyVegas 10.0OFX Video Plug-Ins

• Restart the system
• Launch Vegas and make sure that the plug-ins work
• Launch Fusion

Please let us know how this works for you.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi Peter,

By default BCC OFX x64 installed in C: Program Files x86.

I followed your procedure: C: Program Files 10.0 OFX Sony Vegas Video Plug-Ins.

It works! Fusion also.
Congratulations for your efficiency and responsiveness.

I think I'll buy BCC OFX seems to me very well.

The solution, BCC OFX + BCC AE is interresting but costly.

Thank you Peter and the team Boris
