Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly while using the BCC NRTAll plugin.

Any thoughts as to why I keep experiencing intermittent crashes? I also seem to have the same kind of issue when using Noise Industries' FXFactory Pro plugins. Is it by chance something on my side I could fix?

Logan,

Are you getting these crashes consistently?

Could you send the full crash report in a text file to support@borisfx.com Subject Attn: Matt with steps on how to reproduce the crash?

-Matt

I apologize for adding that extra text at the bottom.

It doesn't happen all the time. The best I can describe it is it happens every so often. Maybe once every 10 minutes depending on my use of the plugins.

I'll email that ASAP per your instructions. Thanks again!

I was using some of the BCC plugins yesterday to try and get some of that code again, but thankfully I haven't experienced any crashes yet. Sorry for that delay. I'll send it to you the next time I get a crash error message. Thanks again!

Any resolution to this?
I just upgraded to Snow Leopard, the latest FCP AND the latest BCC. I've been getting the same error message.
Thanks.

Kenny,

There is no resolution to this at the moment. It is something that is being monitored and worked on. As soon as there is a fix you can expect me, or someone else, to post it here.

FCP 7 crashes consistantly with this error when I apply BCC Extruded Text filter to a slug. Crash occurs when I either render the timeline or export to self contained QT movie.

I'm also having crashes with the Boris continuum plug-in & FCS3. I have used the uprez filter in a couple of spots, applied to the brick generator and maybe the scan line filter.

I can get boris to crash FCS 3 consistently. I am making assemble edits to tape. Each tape is a copy of the same timeline. I finish a tape and replace it with a fresh tape and try to drag the timeline to the assemble icon and FC crashes telling me that Boris NRTAII was the likely cause.

I have the same issue as well, however, I'm still using BCC5 with FCP Studio 3. This is discouraging as I was hoping the eventual upgrade to BCC 6 would solve the problem.

Hey Guys,

Just want to let you know FCP 7.0.2 has been released. This update should resolve your issues.

Any word Michael?

I also want to let you know we identified a similar crashing problem running 2 graphics cards in a machine.

If your crashing problems aren't resolved this is something to look at.

I'm still seeing that bug pop up either during a render or occasionally when the CTI is over a clip with a Boris effect.

Don't have 2 video cards, but we do have a Black Magic card in the machine which technically may be considered a second video source I guess.

Just yesterday I was trying to render a clip with the 3D extruded shatter effect and it would crash with that same NRTAll bug. Strangely enough it would render ok if my frame size was 1280x1080 30P with a pixel aspect ratio of HD 1280x1080. But if I switched to 1920x1080 60i with a square aspect ratio it would crash during the render.

Hope this helps.

Ok,

Just to double check.

Are you running FCP 7.0.2 and the latest BCC update 6.0.7.1?

Michael Tate JonesRe: Final Cut Pro crash due to use of BCC 6 plugin

Yes, running FCP 7.02, but I haven't upgraded to BCC 6 yet. Still running the latest version of BCC 5.

This is most likely contributing to your problem.

Could you possibly test with the trial of BCC 6 and see if your problem is resolved?

The 6.0.7.1 release was to specifically address this issue.

I'll give it a try. Will I be able to easily revert back to my licensed copy of BCC 5?

BCC 6 will replace the BCC 5 files but the licensing will stay intact.

You can simply reinstall BCC 5 or back up the BCC 5 plugin files from Mac HD> Library> Plug-ins> FxPlug folder.
