We would like to setup an IP camera in a large room and stream live lectures online. The speakers will be moving around the front of the room therefore we need a PTZ camera too.
My questions are:
1. Will an IP PTZ Camera be able to stream using IP directly to say USTREAM or VEETLE?
The most troublesome question is, will this be smooth video or will there be just too much lag, audio / video out of sync issues?
(Correct me if I am wrong, but with this option, we need to use the LAN to retrieve the video feed in H.264, and then stream it to the net. Double the bandwidth = slower video stream?)
2. If directly from the IP camera is not going to work smoothly, what about the option of capturing the analog signal instead of IP and converting to SDI in realtime (using the Blackmagic design H.264 Pro Recorder) and streaming that live online to USTREAM or VEETLE?
(Correct me if I am wrong, but with this option, we only use the LAN to stream online, as long as the video is already encoded to the correct format, H.264 we should be cool with smooth video, and audio syncing would be fine.)
I've tried to find the best option for our situation and I am leaning towards the second option above however I need advice on the Hardware to purchase.
