Now that it supports DNxHD, is it possible to hook up a 2.5" hard disk drive instead of a solid state drive like a Western Digital Scorpio? If I'm only capturing compressed HD files? Is it fast enough?
Keep in mind that the shuttle is also running on battery power and the requirements of a spinning platter drive are MUCH higher than an SSD. The power of this system is its size, durability, battery life, and now, flexible file structure. Using a spinning drive would lessen the run time, destroy the durability factor and generally compromise the design. And for the price, these are still a smokin tool!
