hi
Seen a few previous posts about Telepromters
I have an Iphone with a App call pro prompter, works great outside and its readable from about 8 metres, can change font size, speed, and can skip through paragraphs by flicking the screen, can control speed functions from another iphone or itouch... it sits just on top of lens with bracket.... clients have laughed but now love it,,,

Also the iPad makes a great and (relatively) poor man's prompter.

Readable off an iphone screen at 8 meters? I find that hard to believe.

Agreed.

8 inches certainly. 8 feet - possible for someone with 20/20 vision, perhaps.

But 8 meters is more than 24 feet. I suppose it's "possible" if you have eyes like a hawk.

But I'm thinking the scale is skewed.

Yeah that's one letter per screen I think...

Funny you should say that... There is actually a technique where you fill the screen with single sequential letters and it is actually somewhat readable. I've only ever seen it once on TV. It is better done with entire single words, but yes, it could be done with single letters, and blanks for spaces. Next time you want to kill an hour with your character generator, try it and see how it works.

"Oh, you wanted to RECORD that?"

I imagine for most readers the resulting performance would be funny, though not usable...

There's something to be said for your professional image though. With the clients I shoot, if I showed up with an iphone teleprompter, I'd get blacklisted regardless of functionality.
