Pete BurgerModeration question
by on Feb 7, 2015 at 12:15:57 pm

After a long time of "abstinence" from the COW, I started to post/answer again. I updated my profile and while doing that, I changed my name from "Peter" to "Pete" (simply because that is what people call me). Since then I'm under moderation. If I change the name back, will I not be "under moderation" again or does this make things even more complicated? If it is possible, I'd keep "Pete", but I will change it back of course, if that is the "better" way.
Thanks guys for still being here and thanks in advance for your reply.

Best,
Pete(r)

Hello Pete,

Yes, when a user changes their name the associated account is put into moderation. This is due to our real names only policy, and the continuous attempt of people to use various fake names or company names. Once accounts are seen to be in compliance they are unmoderated, as is the case with your account. If you change your name back you will be automatically moderated, but then unmoderated after our moderators see their is nothing fishing going on.
