I have an interlace/pulldown problem. I have a 6 minute sequence that I have edited in FinalCut 5.1.4. I shot the footage on a Canon HV20. Half is shot at HDV 24p and the rest in HDV 60i. The work flow is 60i and It plays perfectly in the viewer in FCP. So far so good. Now I want to get it out into the world via DVD for TV or computer playback and I also want to bump it to tape so I can view in HD if I want. When I export via QuickTime at full resolution using the current settings and self contained movie, I get a file that has horrible interlace artifacts. When viewing the 24p part I see 2 bad linterlace frames and 3 good frames. When I view the 60i part, I see every frame interlaced. I don't see any of this in the FCP canvas playing at full screen. Should I filter the interlace in FCP or will that reduce the resolution?
Next problem is when I try to print to video all I can muster is the bars and tone before it quits. Any help there would be appreciated?
