Well, I've done just that but on a Mac Pro 1,1. Really. After using SFOTT to create a Mavericks install, and putting that on a Crucial SSD, it's transformed the machine. OK so it's no speed demon, but X runs very well considering. 24 gigs of RAM

Yes, the AJA T-Tap works perfectly with Media 100 in Mavericks! I'm using it with my 2011 17 inch MacBook Pro. Make sure you use the 10.6.1 driver, though. According to Floh, the new 12.1 unified driver does not work with Media 100.

Mabel, FCP7 is a 32bit application and as such can only address a theoretical 4gig of ram, in practice 2.5gigs. So it doesn't matter how much ram you throw at it, it can't use any more. FCP7 is not processor aware, so it cant use the extra processor

The highest OS I have with FCP is Mountain Lion, but I think it's just the way Canon have 'filed' their software. I see no reason why it wouldn't work with Mavericks.

delete your Premiere Pro preferences, ensure that you're on the latest version of Premiere Pro CS6 hopefully that helps. Remember that CS6 is not officially supported on Mavericks.
