FCP quitting unexpectedly

Dear cc community :)

I'm using FCP 7 and relatively often it quits unexpectedly. I have set my autosave to 1 minute to minimize loss,but it's still really annoying to work like this. Is there anything I can do, besides reinstalling the program?
