I am not really sure about the reason you would want to use that workflow but that is beside the point as I am sure it is a good one.

What you are asking is beyond the capabilities of any NLE that I know of or even cared to think about, anyway a workaround would be to duplicate the sequence for each section of the timeline that you need and then move the work area around. Open AME the select all of the clips from the project panel and drag them into AME.

You could also cut all of your clips in the timeline and then open each clip in a new sequence, that would not be as cumbersomne as moving the work area and then all of your seq. will be exactly the same length as each clip.

Yes it will take time for AME to scan and link everything from PrPro because it is doing all of the heavy lifting. mileage may vary on the preprocessing speed.

I am guessing that you are sending "selects" to a client?
