How do I disable a plug-in and open a library?

I'm trying to open an older library in FCPX 10.4.5 on High Sierra.
It seems to have updated OK but then crashes on loading because of an old plug-in - Lemke Software's Epicolor.
How can I disable this plug-in and get the library to open without it?
Tried moving it out of Motion Templates folder, but next time I loaded, the clever darn thing copied it back into that folder from where I'd stashed it on the desktop!
