Can someone please explain what this means:

One-step Transitions on Connected Clips

Add a transition to a connected clip or between multiple connected clips without manually creating a secondary storyline.

I've been a FCP editor since like version 3. I'm watching the FCPX updates and discussions while keeping an eye on Premiere. I'm not buying or installing a preview copy of X because I'll need a new graphics card if and when I decide to adopt X so I've only been reading as much as I can.

I'm embarrassed to say that I have no idea what this new feature is or why everyone is so happy about it. I guess I also just don't get connected clips and secondary storylines. Can it be explained in "FCP 7 speak"

Thanks for humoring me.
