fwiw, I was able to create a squeezed side by side 720 sequence in prores in finalcutpro7 and use the share to bluray function to burn a dvdrom that played HD on a consumer bluray player feeding a sony 3D set. We did have to go into the menus on the set to force 3D display, but it did work. I'd assume with a blu-ray burner you could burn a full bluray disk.
