I'm guessing that for some reason, Particular is causing the expression to evaluate at times before zero. I suspect the same thing will happen if you try and look at the expression results with the graph editor (it will draw a tiny piece of the graph before time zero).

Encasing the expression in test for negative time should help:


if (time < 0){
value
}else{

(expression goes here)

}
