Can anyone make a recommendation for a good graphics card for color and motion on an 8 Core Mac Pro? Are there any cards that should avoided?

Thanks

I just swapped out my X1900 with a ATI HD 3870.

Stay away from Nvidia.

I have the x1900XT at home, and the ATI 3870 at work. Both are good cards. 3870 is cheaper...

Yeah, NVidia is for Avid...ATI for FCP. Sucks when you use both on the same machine.

Why is nvidia worse than ati? What difference am I going to see switching from a nvidia 8800gt to an ati? Is there a quality difference in render or is it just a time/speed thing
