Replacing a clip in DS 7.5

Greetings Avid gurus! We recently aquired a 2nd hand Avid DS 7.5 system that were currently using, trying to get a handle on how it's workflow is. Most of the stuff we've figured out, but i have a question about replacing media files, since the DS has a more complex way of linking up data.
Here is the scenario, we've "captured" a few QT files generated from After Effects onto our timeline. We've placed these in several edits. We've had to make a few changes to the graphics, so we re-rendered the QT files, but i'm curious what the most automatic way to "replace" the old files with the new files on the timeline is? I'm used to the FCP/Premiere approach were you just replace the files that the project is linking to, but on the AVID it's not quite that straight forward.
thanks for any tips!

Import the new file and replace the old file with it. That's all the automatic you get since Avid creates its own (OMF or MXF) media from every file you import.
