Prepping a logo in photoshop, then illustrator for use ProAnimator
by Steve Norfleet on Sep 1, 2017 at 4:13:35 pm
I am having difficulty with the work flow. In photoshop, I am creating work paths to export to illustrator but it is creating two paths for letter like "a" and "o" . The export paths to illustrator file opens in Animator fine but the letters have "no holes" in them and the paths are coming in as separate objects. So, in illustrator I have been trying to group, and merger these paths. but the export options from illustrator are very frustrating for me. I have watched the tutorials but I cannot get a file out of illustrator that pro animator will use. Always says "no vector information" So, two problems that I could really use help with. Thanks

Sorry, our customer support guy seems to have slacked off in a big way. Let's see if I can catch you up.
First off, even if the holes don't come into PA correctly you can still fix them inside of PA. The trick is you want to end up with the hole path and the outside path both on the same PA layer.
1- choose the path selection tool (middle of the three arrows)
2- select the hole path
3- switch to the point selection tool (right of the three arrows)
5- Select the outside path
This process puts the hole path onto the same layer as the outside path.
The problem you ran into with the Illustrator files not being able to be read is typically because the Compression option was left on during save. You can find information about it on this FAQ: https://zaxwerks.com/vector4.shtml
or you can just Google the error message and find links to the answer.
Hope that helps,
