MXF files not accepted by AME - No MPEG2 presets
by Ken Pugh on Jun 20, 2013 at 2:52:35 pm
Since reformatting our boot hard disc, and installing an upgrade of AME and Premiere Pro from Creative Cloud (AME 6.0.2) we no longer have access to certain codecs. For example I can no longer transcode MXF files to ProRes (I get a message saying the files could not be imported. Could not read from source. Please check settings and try again).
AME also no longer has the option to transcode to MPEG2 (there is no DVD or MPEG2 option in the preset menu). The HDV preset seems to be missing as well.
DO I need to instal anything else to make these things work? I used both these codecs in AME 5.5 on our previous boot disc quite happily.

For anyone else coming across this problem.... I cloned my hard drive and booted again and this fixed the problem. Seems there is a known issue with some codecs not being correctly licensed during installation/registration. There is a FAQ from Adobe about this below.
